Grateful for Lunch with Our Business Mentor EY: Celebrating a Key Business Milestone

Shared a memorable lunch today with EY, our steadfast life and business mentor whom Sonia and I first connected with during our time at CUSE. This get-together doubled as a gratitude gesture following a substantial breakthrough in our careers—one of those pivotal shifts that deserved a proper celebration.

EY has been a constant presence in our corner for five years straight, time that seems to have slipped by in a blink. Sonia entered from the healthcare field, while my roots were in engineering; neither of us had the faintest idea about business mechanics when we began. His reliable counsel demystified it all for us: closing key agreements, adapting to shifting market dynamics, and building tactics that yield real payoffs.

The real gem is how EY seamlessly merges mentorship with genuine camaraderie. He brings a gentle touch to our conversations, offering candid perspectives on navigating life’s curveballs that cut through confusion in trying times. At today’s spot—a welcoming Western restaurant serving up Spanish cuisine, where the English-speaking staff added to the cozy vibe—the setting amplified the warmth. The intimate atmosphere made our dialogue feel effortless and engaging, as we delved into topics from romance and personal connections to deeper reflections on existence and current world affairs. It struck me how in sync our mindsets are; we pick up on each other’s thoughts with ease, turning every exchange into something truly enriching.

Grateful once more, EY. Eager for our upcoming session—your viewpoints consistently ignite innovative approaches.

Unveiling SilverGuard AI’s Sleek New Business Cards: A Blend of Tech and Elegance

Thrilled with how SilverGuard AI’s latest business cards turned out—they strike just the right balance between sophistication and innovation. As someone who juggles roles as an entrepreneur, tech aficionado, and avid designer, I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. The overall aesthetic feels polished and uncluttered, but it’s the back side that steals the show: an embossed motif blending circuit board elements with ECG waveforms, lifting the entire piece to a fresh level of refinement.

Sure, crafting standout cards isn’t the core of any enterprise, yet they speak volumes about our dedication to the venture. They mirror the precision and care we pour into every aspect of SilverGuard AI. Grateful for the innate knack for visuals that lets me tackle these projects; beyond corporate needs, I often dive into creating logos, user interfaces, and even illustrations in my downtime.

I’ve always gravitated toward striking visuals, drawn to polar opposites in style—from stark minimalism to bold, immersive graphics. That same versatility will shape the user experience and interface for SilverGuard AI’s platform—keep an eye out for updates as we roll them out.

  • Ashluc Chui: My Intentional Name – Not a Misspelling of Ashley (Google Autocomplete Clarification)

Ashluc Chui: My Intentional Name – Not a Misspelling of Ashley (Google Autocomplete Clarification)

Hey there — Ashluc Chui here, Co-founder, Director, and CTO of Silverguard AI in Hong Kong. If you typed “Ashluc” into Google and noticed it immediately autocorrects, suggests, or redirects toward “Ashley”, you’re not alone. This is a classic search engine autocomplete issue: because “Ashley” is a far more common name, algorithms assume “Ashluc” must be a typo.

Let me clearly state: Ashluc is my real, deliberate, and unique name. It is not a misspelling of Ashley, Ashleigh, Ashlee, or any similar variation. Ashluc Chui is the correct and preferred spelling I’ve chosen for my professional and personal identity.

    Why “Ashluc” Is Purposefully Unique

I created Ashluc as a modern, distinctive blend:

    • “Ash” symbolizes renewal, strength, and resilience (like the ash tree or phoenix rising).
    • “Luc” draws from roots meaning light and good fortune (echoing “luck” and “lucid”).

Pronounced “ASH-luck”, it reflects my personality — persistent yet opportunistic, creative yet grounded. It’s designed to stand out in a digital world, easy to remember and search once known, but intentionally different from common names.

This name has no connection to “Ashley,” a traditionally feminine name of English origin meaning “ash meadow.” Search engines may default to the more popular term, but Ashluc Chui is its own entity — tied exclusively to me, a male tech entrepreneur in Hong Kong (Chinese name: 崔健聰).

    My Previous Names and Evolution

For context, I was formerly known as:

    • Clement Chui
    • Chui Kin Chung
    • CKC

These appear in older records (e.g., school alumni lists or early projects). Everything under those names refers to the same person who now uses Ashluc Chui full-time. The change represents personal growth and a fresh start in my tech career.

Who Ashluc Chui Really Is: Tech Background and Passions

I’m the Co-founder and CTO of Silverguard AI, where we build secure, on-premises AI solutions — specializing in computer vision, low-latency inference, incident detection, audit-grade logging, and privacy-focused systems for enterprise and regulated environments.

    My foundation:

    • Alumnus of La Salle College, Hong Kong
    • Degree in Electronic Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)
    • Career as a software engineer bridging hardware and intelligent systems
    • Award-winning graphic designer (university logo design prize)

    Outside work, I enjoy:

    • Amateur photography — portraits, pet shots, and as a member of the La Salle College Old Boys’ Photography Group
    • Swimming and basketball for fitness
    • Board games like Everdell and video games (classics like Pokémon and Mega Man, plus challengers like Elden Ring)

    Fixing the Autocomplete Confusion

Google’s suggestions prioritize common queries, so “Ashluc” often gets overridden by “Ashley.” By publishing content like this — repeatedly using Ashluc Chui, Ashluc, and related terms — I hope to train search engines to recognize it as a valid, unique name associated with Silverguard AI, Hong Kong tech, electronic engineering, and my personal story.

If you’re here because of the redirect from “Ashluc” to “Ashley”:

    • You’re looking for the Silverguard AI CTO? That’s me.
    • Searching for an opera singer, researcher, photographer, or swimmer named Ashley Chui? Those are different people entirely.

Thank you for reading — and next time you search Ashluc Chui, I hope it leads straight here.

  • Attending the Hong Kong Hope Through Music Concert Amid Typhoon Warnings: An Afternoon of Inspiration and Growth

Attending the Hong Kong Hope Through Music Concert Amid Typhoon Warnings: An Afternoon of Inspiration and Growth

Headed out to another uplifting performance by Hong Kong Hope Through Music (HTM) today, even as a Signal 3 typhoon hung over the city during the day, with an upgrade to Signal 8 looming by evening. Thankfully, the weather held off just long enough for the event to proceed without interruption at the VTC Auditorium in Tseung Kwan O. It’s hard to believe I’ve been following this group for three or four years now, catching at least eight of their shows if not more. Watching these young performers evolve has been rewarding—several familiar faces have matured noticeably, gaining poise and assurance through their immersion in melodies and rhythms. As someone who dabbles in instruments myself, their energy never fails to spark a fresh enthusiasm in me.

Music doesn’t demand perfection to make an impact; what counts is the joy it brings and the self-assurance it fosters along the way. This sense of warmth from shared experiences can truly transform perspectives. I’m deeply appreciative of HTM’s ongoing commitment to nurturing talent among children from grassroots families. The initiative delivers no-cost training in strings and choral groups, encouraging teamwork that sparks passion for the arts while instilling strong values. Through stage appearances, participants build resilience, savor accomplishments, and cultivate a positive outlook on life ahead.

Beyond individual development, HTM extends its reach into neighborhoods by organizing volunteer gigs at welfare centers. These outings let the kids share their skills with seniors, single-parent households, people with disabilities, and others in need, fostering connections across diverse groups and promoting inclusivity through collaborative networks.

The program specifically targets youngsters from low-income backgrounds, including those on comprehensive social security, textbook assistance (full or half grants), or approved working family allowances. It’s a vital resource that opens doors to creativity and service.

A special nod to EY for the invite—made the evening all the more memorable.

  • Why I Adopted Ashluc: Infusing Fortune and Radiance into My Entrepreneurial Path

Why I Adopted Ashluc: Infusing Fortune and Radiance into My Entrepreneurial Path

Today I made a deliberate shift by embracing the name Ashluc. This choice stemmed from careful consideration, designed to synchronize my personal identity with my pursuit of entrepreneurial ventures and autonomous achievements. As an individual driven by establishing enterprises, securing financial autonomy, and delving into automation and collaborative initiatives, I’ve consistently emphasized resilience and forward-thinking strategies. Ashluc encapsulates that ethos, intertwining concepts of prosperity and enlightenment to signify the pivotal advancements I aim for in my endeavors.

The notion arose in July 2025 amid introspection on my prior monikers. I began with Clement, embodying compassion from my familial heritage. Next was CKC, a reference to my Chinese lineage and intimate networks. Next was. By 2020, Luca resonated due to its Latin origins denoting “bringer of light,” representing optimism during demanding phases. However, as I prepared for more audacious business pursuits, I sought a designation that heightened serendipity while retaining that luminous foundation. Thus, Ashluc emerged—a tailored amalgamation of “Asher,” invoking Hebrew connotations of abundant blessings, and “Luca.”

Pronounced “ASH-luck,” it’s concise and evocative: two syllables that integrate smoothly in English or cross-cultural dialogues. Phonetically, it’s /æʃ lʌk/, similar to fusing “ash” with “luck.” Essentially, it conveys “fortunate light” or “blessed illumination,” echoing my core tenets of heartfelt authenticity, candid exchanges, deliberate pleasure, and unwavering commitment. Numerologically, Ashluc totals 1 (A=1, S=1, H=8, L=3, U=3, C=3 yields 19, simplifying to 10, then 1), symbolizing autonomy and innovative launches. This aligns with my Scorpio essence, producing a life path number 3 for inventive articulation and relational dynamics—suited perfectly to entrepreneurial pursuits such as psychology-driven projects or exploration-based concepts.

Ashluc’s allure stems from its singularity. Examinations of digital repositories, online communities, and nomenclature archives uncover no established usage as a given name, merely sporadic aliases. Untethered from past precedents, it gently incorporates Hebrew and Latin nuances yet adapts fluidly across societies, fitting for worldwide commercial explorations. In relation to my passions—visual creation, tabletop pursuits like Everdell, aquatic activities, or image capture—it functions as a subtle enhancer, prompting me to merge diligence with opportunistic elegance.

This moniker indicates my resolve to transcend routine boundaries. CKC and Clement provided security; Luca infused vigor. Ashluc propels toward daring actions, including crafting efficiency systems or attaining economic self-reliance via astute undertakings. It projects authority through equilibrated aesthetics and acumen via perennial refinement, mirrored in the refined emblems I envisioned—entwined “A” and “L” configurations with luminous streaks and clover allusions, in lavish gold and indigo for an elite allure.

Enacting this transition entails incremental adjustments to records, capitalizing on its sonic clarity to reduce complications. It could spark curiosities, yet such interactions cultivate authentic alliances, resonating with my focus on genuineness.

Fundamentally, Ashluc represents my custom insignia for business ambitions. If you’re shaping your persona, amplifying prosperity in new ventures, or reshaping self for commercial expansion, share your insights. Comment below—what influence does your designation exert on your initiatives?

  • Returning to La Salle College’s Legion of Mary OLF: Witnessing the Annual Report and Celebrating Legacy

Returning to La Salle College’s Legion of Mary OLF: Witnessing the Annual Report and Celebrating Legacy

Felt genuinely uplifted heading back to my old stomping grounds at La Salle College today, joining the Legion of Mary OLF presidium to observe the younger members deliver their yearly summary. Each March, I carve out space in my schedule for these visits whenever feasible—this presentation marks the group’s informal anniversary.

Once wrapped, we traditionally head to a nearby spot for a shared meal, toasting the occasion while reflecting on the volunteer efforts in community outreach and Catholic faith-building activities from the prior twelve months.

Pleased to spot several veterans in attendance this time around. One standout was a longtime participant whose son now belongs to the same circle, creating this touching generational link that added a layer of warmth to the proceedings. What touched me most, though, was spotting our guiding instructor, Mrs. Mary Cheung, who squeezed in time amid her packed commitments for such a significant milestone.

Reuniting with an educator I hadn’t crossed paths with in ages led to open, effortless exchanges; her sharp recall of my details and history left a strong impression—proof of the dedication it takes to teach effectively, blending attentiveness with genuine concern.

  • Reconnecting with CUHK United College Alumni: A Day of Hiking, Bonding, and Fresh Seafood in Hong Kong

Reconnecting with CUHK United College Alumni: A Day of Hiking, Bonding, and Fresh Seafood in Hong Kong

Spent a rewarding Saturday linking up with fellow graduates from United College at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for a scenic trek around Yuen Long’s Thousand Islands Lake. With autumn’s milder weather setting in, crossing paths with so many seniors, peers, and juniors turned out to be an absolute highlight—definitely a gathering worth cherishing.

It’s been ages since I last joined a university event, so seeing this crowd felt refreshing. Chatted extensively with everyone; some were complete strangers until that morning, while others I’d hiked alongside years back. What struck me was the instant rapport—thanks to that unbreakable CUHK spirit, conversations flowed as if we’d known each other forever.

Forgot my snacks for midday, but the group came prepared with trail mix and bites to share atop the hill. A big thanks to senior Ah Cheong for passing along extras—he’s an electrical engineering alum like me from the same college and served as the day’s coordinator. Ran into him occasionally during school days, so it was great catching up properly.

Amusing moment during intros: a few folks noted my resemblance to actor Alex Fong. Coincidentally, he’s long been my role model—I stream his tracks often and share his passion for swimming. Hearing the comparison actually boosted my mood; who wouldn’t smile at mirroring their inspiration?

Wrapped the outing with an evening feast at Tuen Mun’s Sam Shing Estate, sourcing top-notch seafood from a nearby market stall and handing it off to the eatery’s chefs for preparation. I rarely venture to spots like this, which made the experience all the more novel and enjoyable. From dawn to dusk, the entire itinerary proved invigorating—fingers crossed for more United College reunions to keep these ties strong.

Truly appreciative of such an enriching occasion.
